Paintings/ Stains On Silk

In this current direction, acrylic paint is used in the form of stains on Habotai silk, which is bonded to a firm, sealed, and gessoed support. This type of silk accepts the stains in unique and intriguing ways.

I prepare these stains by diluting fluid acrylics with distilled water to a thin consistency without sacrificing color intensity.

I value the increased fluidity of acrylic stains – it expands the flow of my process and produces visual effects that would be hard to achieve any other way.
